Guidance for PCTs on implementing the choice of GP practice pilot

The Department of Health has issued guidance to PCTs on implementing the choice of GP practice pilot. In this pilot scheme, patients in three areas will be able either to register as an out of area patient and cease to be registered with their original practice, or have a consultation as a non-registered day patient.

There are three pilot areas, including Westminster, City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets. A large number of West Sussex patients commute into central London, and may take part in the pilot.
